At Van der Valk Hotel Mechelen, we find it important that every guest feels welcome and comfortable. Therefore, we offer adapted rooms and various facilities to make the stay as pleasant as possible for guests with limited mobility.

Accessibility room
The room door has a clear passage width of 90 to 100 cm
The bathroom door is also 90 to 100 cm wide
The bed is approximately 60 cm high
You can access the bed from both sides, even with a large electric wheelchair
Accessibility bathroom
The bathroom features a barrier-free walk-in shower
There is a shower seat available
The toilet is equipped with support rails
The bathroom is approximately 6 to 7.5 m² in size and offers space to maneuver with a wheelchair
Parking
There are accessible parking spaces available in the hotel’s underground parking. Next to the hotel, there is also one accessible parking space (see photo). The square in front of the hotel is car-free, so do not drive onto it.
Our parking is accessible for vehicles up to 205 cm high
Next to or behind your car there is enough space to comfortably get out or use a wheelchair lift or ramp

We understand that electric wheelchairs and medical devices often need to be charged overnight. Therefore, there are electrical sockets available near the bed in the rooms:

Suitable for connecting electric wheelchairs, fans, and other medical equipment
